Serial Entrepreneur, social entrepreneur and business advocate for much needed services and technologies and development in Africa. Ian Has stood as member on the Executive for the Wireless Access Providers Association of South Africa since 2013.

WAPA, established in 2006, is a non-profit trade association acting as a collective voice for the wireless industry in South Africa. WAPA has nationwide reach, representing over 220 organisations ranging from Internet Service operators to hardware vendors and systems integrators. The majority of members are independent wireless operators. WAPA’s primary objective is to promote the growth of the wireless industry by facilitating self-regulation, promoting best practices, and educating both members and the market about new wireless technologies and business models.

Founder of Energizing Africa (EA).From 2003 till 200. CEO of a non-profit org, to “break the digital divide” in Nigeria. Installed over 4000 computer centres for most schools in Nigeria and two of the biggest National Uni’s. Energizing Africa,a means, is to get the best of breed international heads together,further to provide enabling and life saving technologies to the right NGO’s involved in Africa. EA is making awareness of enabling technologies in social development a reality. Engaged and active social mobile and Internet development can really help us achieve a vivid picture of transformation, supported by professionals, and understood by researchers.This network effect is to expose common cause, best care, and collective discovery.

Business Development Manager for Comtel Communications (PTY) LTD , a national wireless and fibre data and telecommunications company, Ian Anderson is their National Business Development Manager. Comtel Communications has a client focussed and altruistic mind-set with a project it has run over the last 4 years, which conjures a strong passion in Ian. www.sent.org.za (Schools eNetwork Trust), facilitates the resources of an established commercial enterprise, to provide schools in the Western Cape with free Wireless Internet. At this stage it is a  registered as a Trust with PBO status, in order to pool in stakeholders for further resources to provide cloud e-Learning, VoIP PBX and further resources for our schools in the future.

The pilot project started in September 2011 and developed into a full project roll out providing free Internet access to over 90 schools in the Cape Peninsula, South Africa. Driven by our director who is a retired school teacher, we have dedicated over R1 million in resources to this project & it is gaining  momentum (incl. government educational departments and affiliates interest).
